What is a Family in GeniusOne?

A Family feature in GeniusOne® helps you organise and view Parents, Guardian, and Child(ren) in one single view and helps you identify each family with a unique name within your system. You can also view their profile data by clicking on their name.

 

You can add up to 3 parents/guardians. Each Parent/Guardian has their own login (which is their email address) to log in to the GeniusOne® Parent App. A Family needs to have at least one Parent who is treated as a Primary Parent. A Primary Parent cannot be deleted from GeniusOne®  unless another Parent is first made a Primary Parent. There is no limit to the number of students you can add under one Family which is only limited by the subscription plan you have with GeniusOne®.  

 

With the Family feature, you can send notifications on the GeniusOne® Parent App to more than one Parent/Guardian. Every Parent/Guardian added to the family will get mobile notifications for the following (this may not be a full list but provided more as a reference)

  1. Attendance: Check-in, Check-out and Ready to Collect
  2. Broadcast
  3. Chats
  4. New Calendar Event Publishing

It is important to remember that Broadcasts Emails are only sent to the Primary Parent/Guardian. Additional Guardians only receive Broadcast mobile notifications and can view Broadcasts on the Parent Mobile App.
